Obituary of Paul Cerny

Paul Cerny passed away at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center on September 27, 2016. Paul was born Pavel Josef Cerny in Nymburk, Czech Republic, to Josef Cerny and Anna Stastna, on January 11, 1939. Paul changed his first name from Pavel to Paul after moving to New York City in 1969, where he worked as a cook in restaurants and hotels, including several years at The Plaza Hotel. In 1988, Paul moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL. A few years later he moved to Hallandale Beach, FL where he spent the rest of his life. Paul spent nearly every morning at the beach, and also enjoyed cooking, watching hockey and soccer, practicing massage therapy, and visiting the Czech Republic in the summer. Paul is survived by his two sons, Derek and Adam, who reside in Plantation, FL. Because of Paul's love for the beach, his ashes will be spread in the ocean.
