Dominick Latella Sr AKA "Donnie" "Don", "Dom" and "coach" and uncle "Don", born May 13, 1944 in Harrison, NY passed away on Sept 6, 2017 after a tough fight with heart and lung issues. He was the son of the late Frank J Latella of Port Chester NY and Lucy Morrone Latella of Mamaroneck NY. He is survived by his wife Sandra Savino Latella, his only son Dominick Latella Jr, his only grandchild Brianna Marie Latella, and only daughter in law Yumet Latella. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews in New York and Florida. He graduated from Harrison high in Harrison NY in 1962 and was offered/invited to tryout by the NY Yankees while still in High School in 1961. He also graduated from the US Naval Training Center in Great Lakes Illinois in 1962 and was a 6 year Honorably Discharged US navy vet during war time. After the Navy tour he also had a successful band as lead guitarist playing in the NY City Club circuit with many future "well known bands" and they recorded a record. The band was the Two Plus Two. Dominick also had successful steel, construction, and boating businesses in both New York and Florida building condos, private home developments, and rebuilding boats . He enjoyed his music and the water the most from his Navy & Boating days. He was a head volunteer baseball coach at Griffin Park in Dania Fl throughout all of the 1980s and was loved by everyone he came in contact with, Pops, you will be missed. His Viewing is Monday September 18, 2017 at 6-9 Pm at Scaranos 4351 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood FL 33021. His final resting place will be on Tuesday Sept 19 at South Florida National Military Cemetery in Lake Worth FL at 2:15 on Tuesday Sept 19, 2017 with Naval Salute, Taps, and Flag Ceremony.
