Obituary of Peter Cameron Bouvier
Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter Cameron Bouvier, 74, died September 12, 2017. He was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He was a resident of Pembroke Pines for 17 years.
Pete was a patriotic man serving in the US Navy during Vietnam as a medic on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was proud to serve his country and could often be seen wearing hats that said US Navy, USA, or Vietnam Veteran. As a result of his service, he became a member of South Florida’s Honor Flight Program. He volunteered time to the organization, attending meetings, walking in parades, and raising money. He was given the honor to travel to Washington D.C. as part of the Honor Flight. His favorite part of the trip was the homecoming. His face was beaming as he came off the plane to discover a little girl holding a sign with his name, people clapping and shaking his hand, and American flags being waved.
Pete held a private pilot license. He would experience pure joy sitting in the cockpit of a plane. His smile would be ear to ear as he commanded the plane and had the vast expanse of ground beneath him. As much as he enjoyed being in the cockpit, he also enjoyed looking at planes, talking about planes, and seeing them fly overhead.
He had a huge heart that felt compassion for others. He was willing to help others giving his time and talent. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Nancy Bouvier of Pembroke Pines. His son, Joseph Bouvier and his wife Jennifer of Plaistow, NH. His daughters, Renee Dickerman and her husband Arthur of Webster, NH; Suzanne Hughes and her husband John of Danville, NH; Bethany Rees and her husband John of Stuart, FL and 7 grandchildren.
