Obituary of Connie M. Lederberg

Connie M. Lederberg of Sunrise, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 10, 2020, after a short battle with lung cancer. Originally from Rochester, NY, she lived there for 40 years and ultimately resided in South Florida for the remainder of her 88 years. She is survived by her children, David Schmeer (Shelley), Diane Larghi, Donna Connolly (Michael); three grandchildren, Michael, Michele, Jonathan; seven great-grandchildren, DaKoda, Shayla, Taylor, Jack, Hudson, Graham, Elle; sister, Grace Magliocco; step-children Carole Cooperman (Mitch), Pete Lederberg, Joel Lederberg (Norma); and pre-deceased by husband David Lederberg, mother Frances Tedesco, father Jack Tedesco, brother Louie Picone and sister Angie Tedesco. Connie cared deeply for her children and friends, and always opened her heart as an active listener and great encourager. If that wasn’t enough, her culinary skills in the kitchen – SOUP and PASTA come to mind – the perfect comfort foods for any soul! Much to the family’s surprise, without any sports background whatsoever, this perfect Mom came to love watching the Miami Heat! What wasn’t a surprise was her hospitality or her Kindle reading which never took a back seat to sending cards for birthdays and anniversaries or the love she had for family gatherings. Her message to you: I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
