Juliano “Jules” Antonio Seriani, 93, of Hollywood FL, passed away on July 16, 2020, from complications related to COVID 19.
Jules was born in Meriden CT, on February 21, 1927, to the late Pasquale and Elizabeth (Julius) Seriani. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Army, where he served in Belgium, during WWII.
Jules was an employee of Avco-Lycoming, in Stratford, CT, for 23 years. At Avco, he was a Layout Inspector, and an MRB Inspector, he also served as a Union Steward for the UAW, Local 1010, and as Credit Union President.
On July 19, 1980, Jules married Helene Turcott, in Milford CT. Shortly after their retirement, the couple relocated to Hollywood FL, where they enjoyed 31 years of marriage, until Helene’s death in 2011.
While living in his beloved Hollywood, (where he claimed it never rained), Jules was active in The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, The Loyal Order of Moose, and The American Legion. In his free time he enjoyed going to Jai- Alai, betting the horses, playing cards (but never for anything less than a quarter), teaching his grand children about the horses, and walking along Hollywood Beach, early in the morning. He was a man of routine, and lived independently, until the time of his passing, still driving himself to the American Legion most afternoons.
Jules is survived by his devoted daughter, Day Seriani (Michael Priestley) of Lancashire, UK, two step daughters, Sandra Rosa of Milford CT, and Pat McGrath of Shelton CT, and Bret Seriani of West Haven, CT.
Grandchildren, Dayne Scott (Roanoke VA), Alana Niederhauser (Boones Mill, VA), A.J.Niederhauser (Barcelona Spain). Step grandchildren, Sharyl Carrano, and Sal Rosa Jr (Milford CT), Tracy Alibrandi (Shelton CT) and Eric Pryor (Kuwait). He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren, including his namesake, Juliana Gabrielson (Roanoke VA).
Jules was preceded in death by his wife, Helene Seriani, his son, Lawrence Seriani, his parents, Pasquale and Elizabeth Seriani, his sister, Esther Dapp, and his brother, David Benton.
Although Jules led a long, full, and happy life, he will be terribly missed by his family. He truly was a “one of a kind“ type of person, and his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, will forever cherish the time that they were able to spend with him, although things will never be the same without hearing him say, “ciao baby,” one last time.
A memorial of life will be held at a later date in Milford CT.
