Obituary of Martin Thomas Mascio, Jr.

Martin Thomas Mascio Jr. (Marty), 91, of Pembroke Pines, FL. got his wings on December 3, 2020 at his home in Pembroke Pines, his home of 55 years after moving from Ohio. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 6th from 1-3 at the Davie location (6970 Stirling Road). Marty was born in Warren, Ohio on September 14, 1929 to Martin and Clara Mascio. He went to high school at Ravenna High, class of 1947. He had numerous jobs, from a celery farm worker to a telephone man at Bellsouth. In his younger days, he enjoyed many activities, such as ice fishing, ice skating, hunting, coaching Driftwood 75lb Broncos football, and scuba diving. His greatest loves were golfing, bowling, puzzles, and fishing. However, his two favorite hobbies were flirting and complaining. Over the last several years, Marty remained active by bowling, volunteering at Pembroke Lakes Elementary, and attending his weekly lunch bunch at Uncle Al’s. He is survived by his four children: Martin (Deborah), Michael (Alice), Linda, Susan (Dino). He has nine grandchildren: Tara, Scott, Jennifer, Marie, Margaret, Nicole, Martin, Samantha, and Sara. He also has six great grandchildren: Mikenna, Anthony, Skylar, Madison, Kinsley, and Tanner. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 69 years, Nancy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations are made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Hearts for Kylee Foundation or any charity of your choice as that is what Marty would have wanted. The family will have a private ceremony at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. where his and Nancy’s remains will be laid to rest. Please keep the Mascio, Jr. family in your prayers.
