Throughout this past week , I have reflected greatly upon what Aunt Rita meant to me personally .While I know she was loved by many,I also know she and I had a deep connection beginning in my childhood that was born of shared experiences ,common interests and similar personality traits.We talked often especially when she lived on Staten Island. She forever praised me and in so doing supported me in all my endeavors. Her laugh was medicine for all ills.When she moved to Florida it left a gaping hole in my heart because I knew it meant I would hardly see her. Any time I had a business trip in Florida I would try to visit her .She was my Godmother, my aunt , my friend, my cheerleader and my hero all at the same time.I am very sad she is no longer with us but happy she died peacefully surrounded by her beloved children . She will remain forever in my heart.
