William has served as a teacher of orchestral music for District 32 in New York. A graduate of New York University, he holds a bachelor's and master's degree in music education. For many years, he also served the Board of Education as the conductor of the Brooklyn Boro-Wide Orchestra, and as judge in awarding the Benjamin Chancy Music Scholarships for high school students. As a professional bassist he has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, various Broadway show orchestras, Latin "Salsa" groups, and with various jazz and night club bands.
