LOUIS
Alix Joseph
Born on November 5, 1950, in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, Alix Joseph Louis was the first born son of Theodore Louis and Isnara Joseph. He grew up with a love for history and politics; as well as martial arts, music, and soccer. Moving to New York City in 1971, he soon met the love of his life Marie Hill at a party in Brooklyn. After a year-long courtship, the couple married in January of 1983. In April of that same year, their beautiful daughter Patricia was born, and five years later, they gave birth to a son, Bradley.
In 1980, “Lou Lou '' as he was affectionately called, embarked on his career as a New York City taxi driver. This career would afford his family a quality education and lifestyle. By 1987, Alix achieved his goal of becoming a homeowner and moved his family to Miami, FL. Although retired in the traditional sense, Alix became a self-made entrepreneur and property owner. With many of his dreams realized and living out his later years as a proud Pop-Pop, Alix could be found poolside or sunbathing at his home in Weston with his grandchildren or countless family and friends who would often visit.
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, with his wife at his side, the Lord called Alix home. He is survived by his wife Marie Louis, his daughter Patricia Louis-Mills, his son Bradley, his grandchildren Kendall Joi and Khamryn Joseph, and his son-in-law Kendrick Mills. In addition, Alix is survived by his sister Marie Labrune, her children Fritzgerald Edwin and Farrah-Lynn; and her grandchildren Kyla, Chloe, Ace, Keilani, and Keith. His sister Gladys Petit-Frere, her daughters Fabiola and Yaminah, and her grandchildren Jayden, Aubree, Keno, Serenity, Andrew, and Fallyn. Alix was a beloved friend and patriarch of a large extended family. He will be missed dearly all whose lives he touched.
