Obituary of Elisa Maria Valdivieso de Buttner

Elisa María Valdivieso de Buttner, of Bogotá Colombia, passed away on June 2nd, 2022 at home in Weston, Florida, after a short but brave battle with cancer. Visitation hours will be held at Joseph A Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel, 9000 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024, on Sunday June 5th from 2 to 8 pm. Holy Mass will be held on Monday June 6th at 12:30 pm at St Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1301 SW 136th Avenue, Davie FL 33325, with Rev Edmond Prendergast officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068 at a later date, where she will join her beloved daughter Heidi, who has welcomed her into Heaven with open arms. Elisa was born in Bogotá on April 22nd, 1938, and traveled to New York to study International Bilingual Administration, and during that time she met Siegfried Buttner, who was immediately smitten! They started dating right away, and after a short time Siegfried traveled to Colombia to ask for her hand in marriage. Their wedding day was December 29th, 1962 in Bogotá, and they relocated to New York where they started a family, with Karin in 1965 and Heidi in 1968. The family also moved to Medellín Colombia for 10 happy years, and returned to Florida in 1983, where she worked for several companies like Bonaventure Hotel and Spa, Yardley, and Dania Jai Alai, from where she retired in 2013. She is survived by her loving husband Siegfried Buttner and daughter Karin Elizabeth Buttner, both surrounding her with love every step of the way. Her niece Monika Amose and nephew Michael Buttner are also joining the family in their grief. The Valdivieso Escobar Ortiz family joins us from Colombia in their prayers and heartache, along with so many close friends and acquaintances who were touched by her gentle spirit. She was a kind and loving generous soul, and promised she would guide us all from Heaven. The Joseph A.
