Please share a memory of Alfredo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alfredo (Jun) Dumancas Diel Jr., 71, of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away on the
morning of June 9, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Alfredo was born on January 14, 1951 to Alfredo Derequito Diel Sr. and Concepcion
Dumancas Diel in Dumangas, Philippines. After graduating from Dumangas General
Comprehensive High School in 1966, he went on to study Business at Siliman University
in 1970. Following graduation, he was employed under the Secretary of Agriculture for
his first job as an Office Clerk for his cousin.
In 1978, Alfredo met Maria (Cana) Diel, and they wed in 1979, going on to have four
children, Donna, Stephen, Jun Francis, and David. The family had settled in Pembroke
Pines, FL since 1994. He worked in a variety of jobs throughout the years to help
support the family. He worked as an account supervisor in several casino cruise ships,
then he went on to manage and maintain the farming business in the Philippines until
he passed. Alfredo’s main role however, was taking care of his 4 children at home while
his wife worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals covering several shifts.
Alfredo (Jun) had a love for fishing, basketball, cooking, and driving long road trips for
family vacations. On the weekends he enjoyed taking his children for day-long fishing
trips along the piers of South Florida. Besides cheering for his favorite team, Miami
Heat, he was an avid fan of his grandkids in soccer games or school events. He was fond
of frequenting the casinos to enjoy the buffet and to collect free giveaways. As a dad, he
found his passion in cooking for his family. He showed his love through the many
Filipino dishes he created and filled the home with the joy of his cooking. He would
always make sure there’s plenty to eat and keep you well-fed.
Above all, he treasured his family and cherished his wife, children, daughters’ in-law,
grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was the doting husband, the attentive dad, the
funny and playful ‘Lolo’, the cool uncle, and the cheerful friend. He had the biggest heart
that could never be too full, always accepting of others and only recognizing the best in
everyone. A truly charismatic figure that drew the love and attention of the crowd.
Alfredo was predeceased by his parents Alfredo Diel Sr. and Concepcion Diel, brother
Noel Diel and sister Delia Diel. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria (Joy) Diel;
his sisters, Elma Photikarmbumrung and Celda Diel; his four children, Donna Diel,
Stephen (Bethany) Diel, Jun Francis Diel, and David (Sofia) Diel and his six
grandchildren: Tristan, Hayden, Haven, Korbin, Paxton, and Rowan. The viewing will
