Obituary of James Joseph Latimer

James Joseph Latimer, formerly of Hampton, NH, and recently of Pembroke Pines Florida passed away suddenly on June 17th in Pembroke Pines, FL. Born in Acushnet, MA, he was son of Bertha Irene & Norbert Frances Latimer, Jim lived his early years in New Bedford, MA. He received his early and secondary education in New Bedford and went on to earn his degrees in music and percussion from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. Jim spent his professional life, first in music and then management for Endicott Johnson, Comcast, SMG Media Gemini Property Management. Jim was an accomplished and talented musician, a renowned drummer, song writer and recording artist. His love for his music spanned his life from Drum & Bugle Corps to his “Rock & Roll” and ‘R & B” band years to his later media consulting years career. He was a lifelong fan of hockey & the Boston Bruins. A Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and Past Grand Knight, Jim was an avid supporter St. Jude’s Hospital. Jim is predeceased by his parents and children Christine and Michelle. Jim is survived by his wife, Eileen Kitsakos Latimer, his daughter and son-in-law Dory Latimer Herzbrun and Jerry Herzbrun of Hallandale, FL., his daughter Jayme Kitsakos Latimer of Hallandale, FL., a son & daughter-in-law Michael & Darlene Latimer of New Bedford, MA., a daughter Gail Carlson of Rehoboth, MA., grandchildren, Katie Michelle Caddell, Michelle Latimer and Noah Latimer,a brother, sister-in-law and family of Charles (Chuck) & Lorraine Latimer of Venice, FL., and his brother-in-laws, their wives and families of Peter Kitsakos of Merrimac, MA & George Kitsakos of Topsfield, MA. Visitation will be held at Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Memorial Chapel, 9000 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday, June 26th, from 2PM-8PM. Funeral Services will held on June 27th at 9:30 AM at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church Chapel 701 Hiatus Rd. Pembroke Pines, FL. with Reverend Octavio Gomez of St. Maximillian officiating.
