Obituary of Aston L. Brown

Aston Brown, 85, born to Samuel and Amanda Brown on May 18, 1938 in St. Mary, Jamaica, peacefully passed away on May 19, 2023 at home surrounded by family. He was the fourth child of their six children. Aston was a graduate of St. Georges College in Jamaica, shortly after, becoming a shoemaker before establishing a trade as a welder. Aston worked for the Chicago Bridge and KWI Limited until moving to the Bahamas working for LBI. Soon after, Aston became employed in Nassau, Bahamas, moving shortly after to Freeport Bahamas for 16 years before eventually relocating and settling in the United States in 1975. He retired from Waste Management, Inc. in 2004. Aston met his lifelong partner, Diania, during softball matches in Jamaica as teenagers. After taking a short break from their relationship, they rekindled their love and married on December 19, 1964. They had 5 children together and he adopted her 1st child as his own. Celebrating over 65 years together, Aston was married to the love of his life, Diania for 59 years. They traveled the world together to include trips to Europe, the West Indian Islands and many states within the United States of America. Diania’s fondest memories of Aston include him being an avid music lover, collecting records of all genres of music as he would play his “tunes” every chance he could. Aston was a loving person, giving advice to anyone he encountered, leaving lasting positive impacts on them. Aston and Diania did everything and went everywhere together; where you saw one, you saw the other. Although born natives of Jamaica, in 1993, together, they both became naturalized citizens of the United States. Aston loved sports, as he competed in many to include cycling, playing soccer, cricket and bowling. He coached successful women’s volleyball and softball teams. Aston was the life of every party as he would make jokes of situations to keep everyone laughing and comfortable. Aston loved each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating everyone’s achievements individually. Aston found an interest in Freemasonry as he became a member of the Rosicrucian Order of the United States until joining and becoming a lifelong member of Modern Free and Accepted Masons of the World, Inc., holding high positions to include the Chief Justice for the State of Florida. He was the founder of Acacia Lodge #548. Aston is preceded in death by 4 siblings, both of his parents and 1 grandson. He is survived by his wife, Diania, 6 children, Michael, Neneita (Dave), Juliette (Valwin), Nadine (Dee), Jonathan (Lanee), LaToya (Roderick); 16 grandchildren (3 bonus), 22 great-grandchildren (4 bonus).
