Obituary of Drasmin Pierre Louis "Dany"

Drasmin Pierre Louis was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on May 11, 1981, to Estelia “Odette” Baptiste Paul and the late Antoine Pierre Louis.
He attended school at Li fe Kindergarten “La Poupette”, Primaire Ecole Slioe, and Secondaire Jean Narcisse. Drasmin loved studying math and science while in school and would always tell stories of sitting underneath the streetlights practice math problems. He earned very high scores in the Certification exam and was very proud to hear his name announced on the radio. At the age of 14 Dras traveled to the United States and lived in Skokie, Illinois and attended Niles West High school where he joined the Soccer team under Coach Scott Ackman. He excelled in academics and athletics and earned a scholarship to attend Butler University where he majored in Civil Engineering and minored in Math and Astronomy.
After two years in college, Drasmin enlisted into the US Air Force and always said this one of the best decisions he ever made. He was Proud to serve this country because he remembers the US Soldiers helped in Haiti when he was a child. He did his civil engineering training in Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and was eventually stationed at Charleston, South Carolina. After leaving the military in 2005, Drasmin worked as a GIS Specialist and consulted on many projects with various companies and agencies including FEMA, Colorado State University, Dullas Airport, and Florida DOT. In 2016 he met Rosa by chance while having lunch and watching the European Premier League at a restaurant, and in 2017 they married.
Drasmin is survived by his beloved Mother Estelia Baptiste Paul, wife Rosa Chacon-De Armas, brother Gandy Pierre Louis, nieces Abigail & Gabriela, Sister Judith Duque, brother-in-Law Michel Duque and nieces Kayla & Sarah, and The Boys- Steve Henry-Claude, Mikey, and Michael
