Obituary of Deacon Carl R. Carieri
Please share a memory of Deacon Carl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Deacon Carl Richard Carieri, 85 of Cooper City Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on 8/4/2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Carl was born in Parkchester in The Bronx NY to James and Amelia Carieri on February 9th 1938. Carl was the oldest of the four sons.
Carl, Bob, Richard and John. Carl has now joined his brothers and parents in heaven. I can only imagine the joy and the laughter when the "Carieri Boys" were reunited!
Carl graduated from Cardinal Hayes High school, was the first in his family to go to college and graduated from Fordham University. While attending college, Carl was in the ROTC program for the United States Marine Corps. Upon his graduation he became a Lieutenant in the Marine Corps and proudly served his country. He went on to gain his Masters degree from Fairfield University, as he loved learning, and was always striving to be a better man. 35 years ago Carl felt called to higher service and entered the Diaconate Program, after completing 3 years in the Seminary he was ordained as a Deacon on January 5th 1991.
Carl was an accomplished businessman with a very successful career in sales, and executive recruiting, but it was his 32 years of service as a Deacon that brought him so much joy. He helped countless people through his counseling, loved baptizing babies, performed some of the most beautiful and personal marriage ceremonies, and helped many grieving families with their funeral services. His love for people was evident in everything he did. Carl was the most loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was always available to lend a shoulder, give advice, share a laugh, and most importantly to help gently guide people to seek Jesus.
Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years Rosemarie, his children Frank and Michele, his grandchildren Taylor and Joe, his great grandchild Evelyn, the Murphy Family and his parish family at St Maximilian Kolbe. Carl now joins his granddaughter and namesake Carly in heaven, and I am sure that reunion was spectacular.
While we are all grieving the loss of this wonderful man, please know that Carl was so happy to be going home to be with the Lord!

Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, we gather here today to celebrate the life and
legacy of a remarkable man, a loving father, a devoted deacon, and a true pillar of our
community. As we reflect upon the journey of his life, we are reminded of the countless
lives he touched, the hearts he uplifted, and the enduring impact he leaves behind.
Our beloved father, a deacon of our cherished church, embodied the virtues of faith,
compassion, and service. His unwavering commitment to his faith was a guiding light for
all of us. He walked with humility and grace, exemplifying the teachings he held dear.
Whether leading the congregation in prayer, offering words of wisdom, or lending a
compassionate ear, he demonstrated the essence of true spirituality.
In the heart of our community, his presence was felt in every corner. He selflessly
dedicated himself to the well-being of those around him. Through acts of kindness both
big and small, he left an indelible mark on countless lives. His smile, his
encouragement, and his willingness to lend a helping hand were his signatures, and his
legacy lives on in the lives he transformed.
Yet, his influence reached beyond the church walls and community boundaries. As a
father, he was a beacon of love, guidance, and unwavering support. He nurtured us with
his wisdom, and his words of encouragement were a source of strength during both
joyous and challenging times. He wasn't just a parent; he was a friend, a confidant, and
a mentor, offering his guidance with an open heart and an understanding soul.
In his role as a mentor, he saw the potential in everyone he encountered. He had a
remarkable ability to uplift spirits and inspire growth. Many have walked a brighter path
thanks to his wisdom and encouragement. His legacy isn't just in the works he
accomplished, but in the lives he inspired to take up the mantle of service and kindness.
As we mourn his physical absence, let us remember that the love he shared, the
lessons he imparted, and the values he instilled are woven into the fabric of our lives.
His legacy lives on in the countless acts of kindness and compassion he ignited. Let us
honor his memory by carrying forward the torch of service he lit, by fostering a
community united by love and understanding.
Though we grieve the loss of his earthly presence, let us find solace in the knowledge
that his spirit lives on in each life he touched. Let us celebrate the life of a father, a
deacon, a friend, and a mentor who left an indelible imprint on our hearts and in the
annals of our community history.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his legacy continue to inspire us to be better,
to do better, and to carry forward the flame of love and service that he so passionately
ignited.
