Sylvia Maria Hendriks (Cueto), 83, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of December 29, 2023.
Visitation will be held at Scarano Memorial Chapel, 9000 Pines Blvd Pembroke Pines, FL 33024 on Wednesday, January 4 from 12pm-4pm. Private cremation to follow.
Sylvia was born in Havana, Cuba to Maria Josefa Cueto (Rivero) and Servando Cueto de la Mora on December 20, 1940. She graduated from Immaculata High School and received an associate degree from the Havana Business School. Sylvia emigrated with her parents and sister to the United States in 1960 where she worked as an Executive Secretary for nearly 50 years. The last three decades of her career where with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.
Her love of family was paramount – throughout her life she strove to unite her loved ones and share the blessings of family. She had an effortless way of making everyone feel comfortable in her company, a true testament to her kind and loving spirit. She was an avid reader, favoring a good spy thriller but no subject was off limits. She also loved to travel, enjoying the diverse people and the cultures.
She is survived by her loving husband Winston Kirk Hendriks of Pembroke Pines, Florida. She also leaves behind her daughter Ivette Money and her husband Walter Money of Bristol, Florida, her son Arthur Larralde and his wife Edna Caceres of Miami, Florida, her stepchildren Kirk Hendriks and wife Sue and Shawn Hendriks of the Cayman Islands, her sister Miriam Carey and her husband John Carey of Hernando Beach, Florida, her grandchildren Nicholas Money, Jake Money, Elias Larralde, Emma Larralde and Ava Larralde, and her step-grandchildren Jennifer Ruby, Kirk Hendriks and Elena McLean.
