Obituary of Walter Charles Lyman

Walter “Charlie” Lyman, a cherished resident of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024. A mass in his honor will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, Florida on March 27, 2024, at noon, officiated by Father Ed. Friends and family are also welcome to pay their respects during the viewing at Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Home, 9000 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida, on March 28, 2024, from 3PM to 8PM. An Honor Guard Ceremony will be held at 5PM. Born on February 16, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama, Charlie was the beloved son of Richard William Lyman and Sabra Graves. He attended Hueytown High School and later earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Barry University. Charlie dedicated many years to the aviation industry, serving fifteen of those years as a Landside Officer with the Dade County Aviation Department before his retirement. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charlie found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for fishing and was an avid baseball enthusiast. Above all, his greatest joy was spending cherished moments with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his three children, Charles, Kevin, and Stephanie; his six grandchildren, Nicole, Derek, Anthony, Jeremy, Kaylee, and Riley; and his brother, Robert. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Matthew Lyman.
