Obituary of Joseph C. Vallon
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Constant Vallon was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on 10-02-1931. He married his late Wife Sonia Destine in 1971. They relocated to Miami, Florida in 1978 with their Son Charles Constant Vallon where they remained until their passing. Upon his arrival to Florida, he joined the Pierre Toussaint Catholic Center, now known as The Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Church. Joseph was one of the original members of St. Vincent de Paul Society at that church and helped distributed foods and other items to needy families in the area, especially during the influx of immigrants to the state in the 1980.
Joseph was a really simple, quiet person who loved to read the Bible. Joseph was so proud to be a member of The Catholic Secular Franciscan Order whose members seek to observe the Gospel of Jesus by following the example of Francis of Assisi. During the past year, Joseph let everyone know that he would be adding “OFS” to any documents that he signed because Pope Francis told members of the Secular Franciscan Order to identify themselves as such wherever they are.
Joseph was a hard worker who did not hesitate to do any respectable job in order to provide for his family needs.
In Haiti, Joseph taught religious education for years; was a choir member and director, and loved to sing.
Joseph is survived by his son Charles Constant Vallon, his Grandchildren Aaron Vallon, Krystal Vallon, Jayden Vallon; His Nephew Ernst Vallon and his Wife Erica, his nieces: Guirlande Vallon, Yolene Vallon, and Magalie Vallon; his Brother-In-Law Jean Claude Destine, his Sisters-In-Law Yvette Febe and Mireille Delisfort. He is also survived by other great nephews and nieces.
Joseph will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He’ll be remembered for saying “Paix et Joi” which means “Peace and Joy” to people visiting his house upon their leaving.
The family members extend their appreciation and gratitude to everyone who have reached out to them in this time of sorrow and kindly ask not to send flowers to the church, but instead to send a donation to The Catholic Television Network (EWTN) on behalf of Joseph Constant Vallon.
Now it’s our turn to say to you “Cons”: Paix ET Joi.
The Joseph Scarano Funeral Home presents his sincere sympathies to the Vallon, Destine, Febe, Delisfort and Cage Families for their loss.
