Obituary of Antoinette Josephine Del Buono

Please share a memory of Antoinette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Antoinette Josephine Del Buono,Age 85, a beloved soul and resident of Florida, Antoinette Del Buono, sadly left our world on July 28, 2024, after a life richly lived in family, service, and kindness. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Annette was a stellar student who attended Catholic schools, skipped a grade in grammar school, and earned business technical certifications upon graduation. She worked in Manhattan, NY, as a bookkeeper for a major firm before moving to New Jersey in the early 1960s to raise her four children. She and her husband Joe took great pride in their children's education, all of whom attended Catholic schools. As the children began to attend college, Annette worked as an office manager, optician, certified insurance analyst for Prudential, and sales representative for Pella Windows before retiring to Florida in the late 1980s. Annette was known for her deep love for Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and practiced her Catholic faith with daily prayer. She was very active in many parish church ministries throughout her life, becoming a beacon of light and hope in the community. Her lovable and compassionate personality touched many lives, and she took on leadership roles within Marriage Encounter and PTA during her younger years and Treasurer of the Italian American Club in her retirement years. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother, the matriarch of her cherished family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Caputo and Angelina Caputo (maiden name, Lucchesi), and her siblings, Jimmy Caputo and Henny Licata, whom she loved dearly and always spoke of kindly. Annette is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph A. Del Buono; an inspiring love story made for the ages. She leaves a legacy through her four children: Joseph Del Buono and his wife Catherine; Anthony Del Buono and his wife Pia; Angela Guertin and her husband Richard; and Vincent Del Buono and his life partner Angela Garner. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Joseph and his wife Alyssa; Michael and his wife Angela; Richard, Breanna, Anthony, Giuliana, and Joseph; and three great-grandchildren: Alessio, Gianluca, and Luciano. Annette’s memory will be a guiding star for all who knew her. In remembrance, a viewing will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Home, 9000 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM, where we will honor Annette’s enduring impact on her family and on our hearts.
