Please share a memory of Michel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michel Joseph Antony Theodore, affectionately known as “Tony”, passed away in Pembroke Pines, Florida on October 30, 2024, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Born in Jacmel, Haiti, on March 7, 1950, to Yvonne Joseph Dortonne and Cephas Theodore, he was the second of five children. Tony completed his high school education at College Classique and College Saint Pierre in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and three years later graduated as an electromechanical technician from the College Canado Haitian. After working for two years at The Haitian Tractor Company, Tony moved to the USA, where he found employment with Sir Electric. In 1986, he ventured into laundromat installation and maintenance in Miami, where he impacted many lives with his professionalism and passion. In 1997, he expanded his presence in the laundromat industry by purchasing Alpha Laundromat, Inc., which he managed successfully for over twenty years. To Tony, Alpha was more than just a business; it was his heart and soul. Tony was known for his incredible sense of humor, charm, impeccable style, but friends & family will remember him most for his willingness to be there for others, no matter the situation. With a compassionate heart and a spirit of generosity, he touched countless lives, becoming a source of strength and encouragement for those around him. His dedication to helping others was truly a defining part of his character, and it will forever remain an inspiration to all who knew him. The only thing he was more devoted to than his family and community was his faith. A fervent Catholic and servant of the Lord, he attended Mass every Sunday and on holy days of obligation. When unable to attend in person, he faithfully followed the 9:30 am Mass at Notre Dame d'Haiti via live stream. He is preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Joseph Dortonne; father, Cephas Theodore; brother, Frantz Dominique Theodore; and nephew, Frantz Ricardo Theodore. He leaves behind a legacy cherished by three children, Beatrice Gaetane Theodore Rutledge, Ralph Antony Theodore, and Krista Mikaele Theodore Joseph; grandchildren Elijah Rutledge, Neielle Rutledge, Jordan Burnett, Kyra Elizabeth Theodore, and Korey Nicholas Theodore; great-grandchildren Matthew Cooper, Jayden Walls, Aaliyah Rutledge, and Xavier Burnett; brothers, Pierre Andre Theodore and Jean Wiener Theodore; sister, Margaly Theodore; nieces and nephews Dominique Patricia Theodore, Marie Aika Brisson, Pierre Alex Theodore, Karl Frederic Theodore, Kelly-Andre Prophete, Christelle Theodore, and Barbara Theodore; uncle, Andre Dortonne; cousins, Jean Richard Dortonne, Ronald Dortonne, Wilhem Dortonne, Berrier Dubuche, Rose Marie Pierre née Dubuche, and Andrea Santil née Dubuche.
