It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of **Juan B. Marquez Fonseca** (known affectionately as Juancho, Big Johnny, and Gato) at the age of 73. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Miami Gardens, FL, on November 7, 2024.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Juan was a loving and devoted partner, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved partner, Isabel Quesada; his son, Johnny Marquez; his daughter-in-law, Luciana Marquez; and his cherished grandchildren, Ana Gabriela, Juan Matheus, and Marcus Noah. He is also survived by his sisters, Olga A. Pulver and Diana R. Retzer, and his niece Andrea Drake, along with her children, Anthony, Jason, and Cristina. Juan leaves behind extended family in Colombia who will also deeply mourn his passing.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Marquez and Maria Elena Marquez Fonseca.
A man of great warmth and generosity, Juan was known for his larger-than-life personality, his infectious laughter, and his ability to make an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. He was a man who loved deeply, and he will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a **funeral service** on **Sunday, November 10, 2024**, from **3:00 PM to 8:00 PM**, at the funeral home. A **burial ceremony** will follow on **Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM**, at **Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery** in Doral, FL.
Juan will be truly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
