Obituary of John Broe

BROE John Arthur ,75 of Miramar, Fl. born 1940 in Amesbury, MA to his loving parents John Broe and Katherine "Bradley" Broe passed away in Miami Wednesday June 29, 2016 due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia. Beloved husband of Claire "Lavin"Broe of 50 years, Loving Father to Debora Sledge married to "Larry", John Broe married to "Suzel" and Kiley Broe. Cherished grandfather of John, Garrett, Sarah, Danny, Katie and Colin. Dearest Brother to Sally Whitton, "The late Jim," Kathy Martinez married to "Dick" and Pat Broe. John moved to Florida and attended North Miami High School. A proud US Army Veteran where he received training that led to his career with the FAA as an air traffic controller/supervisor at the Miami Air Route Traffic Control Center. He graduated from Barry College as his three children proudly watched. John attended St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Miramar and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. John will be remembered as a quiet man, and a devoted husband, father and grandfather and well liked among his friends. He was an avid traveler around the world and a voracious reader. He loved his long rides on his bicycle. Reposing at The Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel 9000 Pines Blvd. Pembroke Pines, Florida Friday July 1, 2016 from 5-9 PM where evening prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass 11 AM Saturday July 2, 2016 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church 16800 Miramar Parkway, Miramar Fl. 33027. Those attending the funeral are welcome to meet directly at the church by 10:50 AM. Interment following at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Doral Fl where US Army Honor Guard Service will take place at his graveside.
