Germelino Roberto Dispo “Bobby” Ballesteros,71 , passed away on September 29,2024 in Miami. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14,2024 at 10 AM with Reverend Juan Pedro Hernandez of Mother of Our Redeemer Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th St.,Doral, FL 33172. Visitation will be held at Scarano Funeral Home, 9000 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024 on Sunday October 13,2024 from 10 AM to 8 PM. Scarano Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Bobby was born in Manila.Philippines to Engr Cesar and Dr Maria Dolores Ballesteros(née Dispo) on June 1,1953. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila , Philippines. He completed his residency in EENT at Quezon City General Hospital. Despite all his medical trainings , Bobby’s true passion and calling was music. He was a gifted musician who could play all kinds of musical instruments. He considered himself a “liturgical musician” and was most happy when playing music to glorify God and His church.
He was an active member of various prayer and choir groups. He was also a member of Emmaus and was a 4th degree knight of the Knights of Columbus. Bobby is survived by his wife of 37 years Mariza(Mitzi) and son Caesar Roberto(Bruce), 3 sisters Maria Theresa, Maria Asunción, Maria Esther(Rod); 3 sister-in-laws Peachy(Jaap), Beth, Girlie(William), numerous nephews and nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and other family members both here in the US and in the Philippines. He is preceded in death by his parents Cesar and Maria Dolores Ballesteros. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Knights of Columbus council 17477 and Men’s Emmaus #6 of Mother of Our Redeemer Catholic Church, the Marian Prayer and God the Father prayer groups, the English and Spanish choirs of St John XXIII Catholic Church.
In Repose Sunday October 13, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel, Funeral Mass will be held on Monday October 14, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Mother of Our Redeemer in Hialeah, Florida, following a 12:00 P.M. burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral, Florida.
